Deceptively spacious stone and slate traditional lakeland guesthouse. The Eastbourne was built slightly later than surrounding properties as a Gentleman's private residence to a higher standard. We are located just below the pictureque "Biskey Howe Viewpoint" in a quiet area within a minute or two's walk of local attractions, amenities and restaurants. Lake Windermere with it's popular Steamers is just a ten minute stroll away. There are over thirty restaurants to suit all tastes within a ten minute walk and Bowness is an ideal base for trips to all parts of the Lake District National Park. The nine well appointed guest bedrooms are all en-suite and do not adjoin each other so you are assured of a quiet stay. All rooms are well equipped to an exacting standard. The biggest "Superior" rooms are of a size you will rarely see in the Lakes or elsewhere which is just one reason why we have achieved the coveted Five Star standard. There is also a special luxury ground floor king four poster room for those special occasions with a double shower with three head power shower. To cap off your stay we specialise in a traditional "Cumbrian" breakfast with award winning cumberland and traditional pork sausages together with locally produced "dry cure" bacon and local free range farm eggs. Vegetarian and special diets are also catered for and there is also an unrivalled selection of cereals, yoghurt, fruit and brioches. 
Rosemount is an elegant Victorian Lakeland stone house built in 1884. Recently taken over by new owners, it is a warm & friendly house, with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Our beds are crisp & comfortable and our full English breakfasts are extremely tasty – particularly the sausages! Guests staying for 2 nights or more will have free use of the Parklands Leisure club, perfect for relaxing after a busy week. Situated a short walk from both Windermere & Bowness-on-Windermere, Rosemount is ideally situated for whatever type of break you fancy. Good restaurants and pubs are within walking distance and for those who fancy a spot of shopping Ambleside is about a 10 minute drive. Rosemount is the perfect place from which to explore Beattrix Potter's home at Hill Top or to take a ride on one of the boats from Bowness Pier. If walking is what you are after you, Langdale Valley is approximately 20 minutes by car, offering ample routes - the only thing you have to decide is how energetic you are feeling! There is parking for 6 cars at the front of the property & for people visiting without a car we are within walking distance of Windermere train station and on the main bus route, so exploring the English Lake District couldn't be easier. Ashleigh Guest House is a traditional Lakeland stone Victorian house situated in the centre of the village of Windermere in the beautiful English Lake District National Park. The House has been restored and modernised to create an English homely atmosphere. We are a family run Bed and Breakfast with a friendly outlook that ensures you will have a warm and comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings. Ashleigh is a totally non smoking guest house. Sorry we do not accept children under 7. The village of Windermere lays between beautiful Lakeland fells and the largest lake in England where there are lots of water sports and lake cruises. The village itself has an excellent public transport system, which covers the entire Lake District. There are also a variety of shops, banks, restaurants, coffee shops and English pubs all within a few minuets walk of Ashleigh Guest House making us the ideal base from which to tour the lake district by car or public transport. Mountain peaks and rolling hills reflected in peaceful lakes, lush meadows, sheep grazing amid rocks and bracken, ancient dry-stone walls criss-crossing the landscape, these are just some of the features which make the Lake District National Park so inviting. Whether you are attracted to the great outdoors, or enjoy visiting interesting places, you will find plenty to do here. Outdoor activities range from gentle strolls or lake cruises energetic fell walking, cycling, water sports, and pony trekking. If you are interested in historic buildings, lovely gardens, museums and art galleries, there are plenty of stately homes, castles, abbeys, and varied museums from which to choose. Many famous writers, poets and artists such as Beatrix Potter, Wordsworth and Ruskin have lived in this beautiful part of the world, and their homes are well worth visiting.

Orrest Cottage has been recently refurbished to give a contemporary feel and atmosphere. There are three comfortable en suite rooms, each able to accommodate two adults. Across the road is the start of the Orrest Head walk, made famous by Lakeland author Alfred Wainwright, it offers you some of the most stunning views over the Lake District fells. We are ideally located just 200m, if you're walking, from either Windermere railway station or the main bus stop at Windermere Tourist Information and we're just the same distance from the centre of town. For your convenience we are Wi Fi enabled, and can offer you flexible check–in times to suit your needs. Check-out is by 10am.
